Traffic Engineering is a branch of civil engineering that uses engineering techniques to achieve the safe and efficient movement of people and goods on roadways. The City of Oregon City contracts with outside consultants to provide this service.
Services include review of private development transportation studies, determining which intersections should be reviewed, what type of study is required, if proportional shares are required and calculating those amounts, and advising on access provisions for development.
The standards followed for these services are the Guidelines for Transportation Impact Analyses (TIA).
