WreathsOur Memorial Day celebration was a wonderful success! On Monday, May 28, 2012 at 10 am. Mayor Doug Neely welcomed over 450 attendees.

Our guest speakers and participant included Mayor Doug Neely, State Representative David Hunt, U.S. Army Captain (RET) Ken Kraft, Chaplain and Celebrant Frank Clore, U.S. Navy (RET) James McDonald, Oregon City High School Junior ROTC, Parents of Murdered Children chapter leader Mary Elledge, and Friends of Mountain View Cemetery.

Other event highlights included military honors and gun salute from Oregon Honor Guard led by Sgt. Lawrence, Randy Leasure played Taps, Anna-Marie Wood sang the National Anthem, Gardiner Middle School Band played music directed by Cheri Rizzo, and Greg Rose performed on the bagpipes.

Activities and crafts were provided for the kids, tours of the historical pioneer cemetery guided by Don Wright, a U.S. Air Force Aerial jet fly-over, and a local private single-engine airplane club made a surprise guest appearance.

Thanks to all of you who helped make this a wonderful event!
