602 1st Avenue

CHARLES AND MAUD SPENCER RESIDENCE c.1913 -- Statement of Significance: Charles Spencer was a foreman for the Crown-Willamette Paper Company in 1916. His mother was Belle Spencer-Rutter (902, 910 S. McLoughlin Blvd.). This is one of several bungalows in Canemah with craftsman style detailing, and one of the few in Oregon City. The chimney is somewhat unusual in form and corbel detailing, and other architectural elements make it one of the best examples of its style in the area.
