1308 15th Street

AUGUSTA POWERS RESIDENCE c.1907-1918 -- Statement of Significance: No biographical information was revealed for Augusta Powers, the original owner of the house. Hidden very effectively by towering cedars, this house is representative of the bungalow of the Buena Vista area. It differs from many because of its attention to topographical conditions (i.e., steep slopes). Across 15th Street is a coursed stone retaining wall built by the W.P.A. during the Depression. This section of 15th Street is called Little 15th. Below (close to the Oregon City Post Office) is called Big 15th.
