Water Conservation

Did you know the average Oregon City water customer uses nearly three times more water in summer than in winter. Oregon City's limited water storage capacity and undersized water pipes make it difficult to serve customers during the dry season, which is typically June through September. It's even harder when fires flare up requiring an immense volume of water, at high pressure. Our highest demand season for potable water (summer) is also the season we see the most fires. Conserving water by reducing usage helps ensure adequate water for all residents, especially during periods of extremely hot weather and/or fire activity.
