On January 13, 2026, the Oregon City Police Department’s Special Investigations Team (SIT), with assistance from the Gladstone Police Department, executed a search warrant at the River Run Village Apartments, located at 871 Risley Avenue in Gladstone.

During the search, investigators discovered a substantial quantity of methamphetamine.  As a result of the investigation, 49-year-old Daniel Gattman of Gladstone was arrested and charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance (DCS-Methamphetamine) and Possession of a Controlled Substance (PCS-Methamphetamine). Gattman was subsequently lodged at the Clackamas County Jail.

If this scenario sounds familiar, it’s because members of the SIT team arrested Mr. Gattman at the same location for the same crimes in November of 2025!

The Oregon City Police Department has received reports of a cougar sighting in the middle of town, near Singer Creek Park. The cougar has been captured on residential video surveillance on Latourette St. multiple times within the last 24 hours. The neighborhood is located off Molalla Avenue and Pleasant Avenue, backing up to Singer Creek Park, which is primarily accessible via Linn Avenue. 

Please report any cougar sightings to the Oregon City Police Department via CCOM non-emergency at 503-655-8211. OCPD is collaborating with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) to provide information for community safety. 

If you are a firsthand in-person witness to the cougar in this area, please call ODFW at 971-673-6000 for documentation. At this time, there will be no attempts to proactively locate the animal. Please be cautious with pets and any outdoor food storage containers that could be attracting the animal.

Oregon City, ORE. – Oregon City has lifted the “Level 1 – Be Ready” evacuation notice for residents on Applegate Terrace. The two homes that were at a “Level 3 – Go Now” have been reduced to “Level 1 – Be Ready”.

The changes come after inspections from geotechnical engineers and building inspectors, who indicated that both structures are currently safe to occupy. The homeowners are receiving recommendations on extra steps they can take to help minimize risks of further movement. 

With additional rain in the forecast, the City is advising residents of the two homes, and anyone else living near a steep slope, to be vigilant for signs of potential landslide activity.

On May 24th, 2025, at about 1:07 a.m. the Oregon City Police Department responded to a burglary in progress at the Geeks and Games store located at 1656 Beavercreek Rd.

During the investigation, it was determined that a subject had forcibly made entry into the building and had stolen numerous items valued in excess of $1,000. Notably, among the stolen items were Pokémon Destined Rivals cards, which were not set for release until May 26th.

The suspect in this case is believed to be an adult male, who was wearing all black and had a mask covering his face. The suspect is further described as having a heavier build and estimated to be 6’ to 6’2’’ inches tall.

Crews are taking advantage of rainy weather, as it provides the best conditions to measure and understand how much stormwater is entering the city’s sewer system – known as inflow and infiltration, or I & I. Because of this, crews are using these rainy days to track and measure how successful the City’s I & I Program has been at reducing I & I.  

Each year, monitoring equipment (i.e. flow monitors) are placed in selected manholes to measure and compare current levels with pre-rehabilitation I & I project levels. Last year’s results showed a 30% reduction in I & I within completed project areas, confirming that recent improvements are working as intended –  reducing the amount of rainwater from entering the sewer system.  These results help plan future projects for construction. 

In addition to system monitoring, several active I & I projects are focused on lateral pipe investigations.  Lateral pipes are the smaller, privately owned sewer lines that carry wastewater from homes and buildings to the main public sewer line.  Two projects (Linn Basin Project 2 and McLoughlin Basin Project 1) are currently conducting lateral investigations to identify sources of inflow from lateral lines in preparation for mainline sewer and private lateral repairs planned for early next year. These proactive efforts will further reduce stormwater entering the system, support long-term system reliability, and prepare the I & I program for continued progress as new projects move forward.
