Young Adult (YA) Fiction
Aimed at readers in Grades 7-12, Young Adult Fiction books are usually coming-of-age stories featuring a teen or group of teen protagonists. Common themes are romance, identity, and finding your place in the world. While some YA books do feature emotionally intense or mature topics, there are plenty of great options for younger or more sensitive readers as well.

YA Manga
Pronounced MAWN-ga, these Japanese comics are read from right to left (the reverse of English-language books) and feature a distinctive art style made famous in the U.S. by anime (ANN-ih-may, or Japanese cartoons) like Sailor Moon. Y Manga books are organized by the name of the series instead of the author's last name and are just right for readers in Grades 7 to 12.
